On the occasion of 800rd anniversary of the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula and as part of theGudula Year 2026Brussels will host from the December 11, 2025 the immersive 360° show LUMINISCENCE.

Already applauded by over a million viewers and presented in some of the world's greatest cathedrals, LUMINISCENCE makes its first stop in Belgium and takes over this iconic monument of Brussels' heritage.

✨ Why is this event already generating buzz?

As light festivals multiply in Belgium — from Luminate Lichtfestival in Hasselt Garden of Lights Rixensart — Brussels is hosting a show this year in a completely different format: a immersive 360° mapping installed inside of an eight-century-old cathedral.
A striking contrast between technology et cultural heritage., ideal for creating a cultural and tourist buzz.

An exceptional setting: the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudule

Dominating Brussels for nearly 800 yearsThe Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula is a masterpiece of Brabant Gothic.

Built from the 13th centuryIt is the result of more than two centuries work of the master builders:

  • proven twin towers,
  • proven colorful stained glass windows,
  • proven monumental statues,
  • and majestic nave

An immersive 360° experience blending technology and live art

LUMINISCENCE offers a 50-minute sensory journey where digital technology enhances architecture.

Thanks to a full 3D modeling of the buildingEach projection perfectly complements the stones, columns, vaults, and stained glass windows. The video mapping transforms the space into a living fresco, retracing the history of the place and revealing its secrets.

A show in four acts… enhanced by a live choir

The experience is enhanced by a Brussels choir livewhose voices are carried by the exceptional acoustics of the cathedral and an immersive 360° sound system.
The audience doesn't just listen: it feels every vibrationtransforming listening into an intense emotional experience.

Artists and musicians present:

  • Hugues Navez — 10-string classical guitar
  • Gordon Fantini — bassoon
  • Jacques Dupriez — baritone violin
  • Brussels Chamber Choir — directed by Helen Cassano, Michiel Haspeslagh, Jan Moeyaert
