🍵✨ There are some places you don't really plan... and then they stick around. Hanna Japanese & KoreanThat's exactly the kind of discovery. You read that right. So you can find raw fish there and BimBimBap!
One slightly chilly evening in Brussels, we push open the door, drawn by the promise of a Japanese-Korean mixInside, an atmosphere warmIt's almost like a family gathering. We order green tea to start, then, a little out of curiosity, some hot sake. And then, the moment settles in. We share gyozas, we chat, we slow down. It's simple, but it feels good.

Comfort food
At Hanna's, people clearly come to eat authentic food without any fuss. The gyozas arrive golden brown, crispy just the right amount, with that tasty filling that immediately calls for the next bite.
As an accompaniment, we receive these typical Korean small dishes that make all the difference, because of soybean, kimchiMiso soup, a bowl of rice… in short, small condiments are the kind of details that give The feeling of travelling without leaving Brussels.
A dish not to be missed

We were going there for a BimBimBap, but I gave in… I opted for a Yono Hoe De Bab, a kind of cousin of Japanese chirashi, a generous bowl of rice generously covered with raw fish (€25).
👉Ultra-fresh fish, clean cuts, clean taste.
👉Well-seasoned rice, which perfectly balances everything.
👉A simple, but expertly prepared dish.
Add to that a piping hot miso soup, and the experience becomes truly complete.
And what about the Korean side?

My partner, on the other hand, left on a japchae, A great Korean classic. And clearly, a very good choice.
These famous sweet potato noodles, yes that's right 😄, have a slightly elastic and ultra addictive texture.
Stir-fried with vegetables, a little soy sauce and just the right amount of sweetness.
A dish that is both light and comforting, typical of Korean cuisine.
Atmosphere & vibes

The place is cozyIt's almost intimate, but be warned, it can get a bit noisy as soon as there are groups. Some background music wouldn't hurt to soften the atmosphere.
Perfect for a dinner with friends or a chill date.
Less ideal for a very quiet date, as soon as there is a group it quickly becomes noisy.
Hanna is well located, in a corner of Brussels where you can easily do other things before or after dinner (for example, the UCG cinema). The neighborhood is lively without being chaotic, with plenty of nice little restaurants and places nearby. It's perfect for a relaxed evening: you can eat, take a stroll, or have another drink close by. Nothing "overly touristy," more of a local vibe that we love.
An address that stands the test of time
It had been years since I'd been back, and frankly, the pleasure is still there. Hanna remains one of the few Korean restaurants in Brussels with this level of authenticity.
The food is still as good as ever, even if some dishes have disappeared from the menu, the salad with hot sauce… so many memories.
The staff are extremely kind, attentive, and always smiling. The service is quick and friendly, making the meal even more enjoyable.
A little tip: booking is highly recommended.
