We tend to categorize it as a "serious park", the fiftieth anniversaryThe monumental arcades, the museums, the suits and ties hurrying through between meetings in the European Quarter. And then summer arrives, and the park transforms into one of our favorite playgrounds. A guinguette (open-air café) sets up deck chairs, there are barefoot dancing evenings on the grass, movies under the stars, and two major festivals bring the esplanade to life. We've prepared the program for you, so you can mark your calendars before everyone else decides to go.
4 Activities Not to Miss at Cinquantenaire Park
1. Rock & Roll in the grass: the potluck dinner we love
This is probably the most "us" plan of the entire summer. The Funnyrockers are doing it again on 8th July 2026 , as every year, with their evening Spanish Inn & Outdoor Rock'n'Roll. The concept is as simple as it is delightful: bring food and drinks (healthy options if inspiration strikes), share with your neighbors on the lawn, and dance. The dance floor is the grass, under the open sky, right between the Maurice bar and the Cinquantenaire arches. It's hard to imagine a better setting for grooving at sunset.
Whether you arrive solo, in a group, or with a whole tribe of rockers at heart, you are welcome. Friends of your friends too, by the way: here, the more the merrier, the more dancing.

For your convenience, there is free parking under the arcades, and the venue is served by the Schuman metro station as well as buses 22, 27, 36, and 80. Bring a light sweater for the end of the evening, as the grass gets cold quickly after dark.

2. Maurice's outdoor café, our summer HQ
This whole atmosphere is partly due to the Guinguette MauriceThe pop-up bar that appears every summer on the Schuman side, near the Green Dog statue, is the kind of place where you stop for a drink after work and end up staying for the DJ. Throughout the season, the program alternates between concerts, electronic music nights, open-air classes, and drinks that stretch into the night. In short, the perfect spot to transform an ordinary end of the day into a true summer evening.
This is also where yoga enthusiasts unroll their mats in the morning for a session overlooking the park before the city bustles. The morning slot is definitely worth checking out if you're looking to start your day off right. (Remember to check the exact dates of the sessions, as they vary throughout the summer.)
3. Indian Food Festival: India comes to the park
August 22-23, 2026The Cinquantenaire takes on the airs and scents of a subcontinent. The Indian Food Festival It returns for two days of festivities, from noon to 21 p.m., and it's free. On the menu, a culinary journey from one end of India to the other: Chennai dosas, Hyderabad biryani, Mumbai vada pav, Assamese momos, enough to delight vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.
But it's not just about the taste buds. The program blends Bollywood, classical, and folk dance, live cooking demonstrations, workshops (diya painting, Lippan art, jewelry making), and a children's area with games and face painting. An ideal family outing for an August weekend, organized by the Indian Confluence collective.
4. Fiesta Latina celebrates its 25th anniversary: the grand finale of the summer
And to close the season in style, let's get ready for Latin rhythms. The Fiesta Latina is coming to the esplanade. August 28, 29 and 30 For its 25th anniversary edition (no less!). Billed as the biggest Latin festival in Belgium, the event features concerts, dance classes, markets, cocktails, and even lucha libre wrestling. Three days to dance salsa until the early hours and soak up the sun before heading back to school or work. You've been warned: it's time to brush up on your bachata steps.
