???? Last Saturday, we took advantage of a beautiful spring day to visit the Quail Song Farm with children. As soon as we arrive, the magic happens: The Japanese cherry blossoms line the avenue, offering an enchanting spectacle. A great introduction to this unique place, where urban agriculture takes on its full meaning.

🌱 What is the Quail Song Farm?

The non-profit organization La Ferme du Chant des Cailles is a urban, participatory and ecological agriculture project located in Watermael-Boitsfort, at the heart of Garden Cities Le Logis Floréal.

It brings together both citizen projects et professional projects, with a clear objective: make sustainable food accessible to all while ensuring decent incomes for producers. It's a innovative alliance, bearer of change, creator of local solidarity and exploring new forms of democracy and self-management.

🥕 Market Gardening: organic, self-harvested vegetables

Six professional market gardeners cultivate a beautiful diversity of vegetables, respecting the principles ofis a research facility in agroecology, .

While walking, we discovered:

  • Classic : carrots, leeks, potatoes, cabbages, salads, zucchini…
  • More original : watermelon turnips, colorful chard, cocktail cucumbers, old squashes…

In the distance, large greenhouses impressive stretches: they are ready to feed subscribers throughout the year, guaranteeing harvests even out of season.

Vegetables are sold via an annual subscription, in a mode close to the GASAP (Solidarity Purchasing Groups of Peasant Agriculture), in self-harvesting : subscribers come and pick their own vegetables on site, 7 days a week.

🧀 Le Bercail: sheep's cheeses and yogurts

Another delicious part of the farm: The Bercail, a small dairy sheep farming business.
Three shepherds and several volunteers transform the milk into artisan cheeses et yoghurt quality.

👉 How to get their products?

A real pleasure to see these sheep peacefully grazing, knowing that their products are made with respect for animals and the environment.
