We tested “Nöje”, the new Vegetal place in Brussels

Pleasure, this little Swedish name with a poetic sound, means “pleasure”. Since we have lived in Schaerbeek, we have been amazed by the amount of gems this city contains. And Nöje is now part of it! Were you looking for a nice place for lunch or brunch in Schaerbeek? Here it is!
A plant-based café with a cozy atmosphere
Recently opened, this vegan café happened by chance while walking near Mérode in Brussels. The place offers a soft and warm atmosphere. You feel at home there, surrounded by green plants and lulled by the ever-present smile of its two managers, Jessica and Xénia.
It seems that “nöje” means “pleasure” in Swedish, and it is a well-deserved name for this place which combines deliciousness, health and respect for the planet.
A varied and renewed menu
Nöje's menu evolves with the seasons. The preparations are simple but generous, and each dish is made without refined sugar. We taste the love put into the dishes, and we enjoy ourselves without guilt! For lunch there is something to enjoy:
- Tarinte of the day with its small salad (9€50),
- Hot lunch of the day (14€),
- Focacci with pesto hummus, veggie mozzarella and arugula (5€50)
- Soup of the day (5€50)
If you are there for the snack you will also have something to please yourself with, for example, the cake of the day (3€80).

Our favorite
- Coffee and Kannelbüllar : We had already tasted it during our last trip to Sweden and we loved it. Here he is finally in Brussels. Since then, we like to stop there during the week to have a coffee and taste kannelbüllar, these delicious Swedish pastries. It is now one of our favorite addresses for a snack near home
- Weekend Brunch : The weekend is our go-to for a healthy and calm brunch. The original recipes are delicious, and we feel that the ingredients are chosen with care. A Sweet option and a Salty option, both at €25. The brunch is complete: cake, pancake, yogurt and granola.
