🍗 We tried Bombay BBQ in Ixelles (and we'll be back)

I hadn't never been, but one of our friends already knew the address and had been talking about it for a while.
For my part, I confess to being rather hesitant about Indian restaurants I don't like things that are too much spicy And I often picture dishes with heavy sauces, like rich curries. So, needless to say, I went in with some preconceived notions… which quickly disappeared.
There were three of us and we decided to really get a feel for it: 6 dishes in total , to seriously test the menu.
🍗 Dishes that everyone will love
Our first big favorite: the fried chicken . Absolutely amazing . Ultra crispy, perfectly seasoned, and above all, accompanied by an incredible sauce . Clearly one of the best fried chickens we've had in Brussels.
The butter chicken was also a unanimous hit: tender, generous, comforting, full of flavor without being cloying. A true classic, perfectly executed.
And then there was… OH MY GOBI 🤯
Le veggie cauliflower deserves its own mention. Even for meat lovers, it's a absolute slaughter Crispy, tasty, ultra addictive. Honestly, we could come back just for that.
🍸 The Bollywood cocktail: not to be missed
On the drinks front, we tried the Bollywood cocktail . The unanimous verdict around the table: it was amazing . Fresh, original, and well-balanced, it perfectly complemented the dishes and added a truly festive touch to the meal.
🎨 A neon atmosphere that sets the tone
In terms of décor, Bombay BBQ doesn't do things by halves . From the basement to the first floor , the restaurant is immersed in a modern and vibrant Indian atmosphere, punctuated by neon lights in shades of pink, red, green, and turquoise . These bright, almost electric colors evoke the bustling streets of Mumbai and Bollywood aesthetics, while adding an urban and contemporary touch. Between the retro posters, portraits, decorative details, and lighting effects, the overall effect is vibrant, lively, and frankly exotic—especially in the evening, when the ambiance becomes decidedly Instagrammable.
🇧🇪 A well-established channel in Belgium
One small detail we didn't know before going: Bombay BBQ already has 5 restaurants in Belgium , including one in Brussels, in Ixelles . Given the quality of the food and the consistency of the concept, it's easy to see why the chain is so successful.

So, in the end? We will come back, without hesitation.
Bombay BBQ has succeeded in making us love modern, gourmet and accessible Indian cuisine, even for those who, like me, are usually wary of overly spicy dishes.
⚠️ Important tip : don't forget to book . The restaurant is often full, and without a reservation, you risk being turned away … which would be a real shame.
