Discovery of a Korean magician – Venice Biennale 2022
You might have discovered Chun Kwang Young previously during his previous exhibition at Art'Loft? Did you like it or did you miss it? Don't miss a first at the Boghossian Foundation: only one prominent artist. Chun Kwang Young occupies the space as it should in this majestic Art Deco building: La Villa Empain.
The Boghossian Foundation announces in its latest press release: Chun Kwang Young: Times Reimagined at the Palazzo Contarini Polignac during the 59th Venice Biennale. Majestic would be the appropriate word when we know that the exhibition includes 40 sculptures, reliefs as well as installations in mulberry paper.
The Boghossian Foundation presents the exhibition Chun Kwang Young: Times
The Italian architect Stefano Boeri presents the “Hanji House”, the architectural commission imagined specifically for the site of this project. It is actually a collapsible architectural structure. This cannot go unnoticed. Consisting of a wooden and textile membrane placed like a lantern, we guess that the piece of art in question draws its source from the practice of folding paper which can be declined endlessly.
For Chun Kwang Young, each triangle encloses an independent semantic component. In a way, a unit of information. By interweaving them in several structures, the whole reveals a confrontation between hopes and reality... An American dream and traditional Asian values
Who is Chun Kwang Young
If you don't know it, it's a korean artist for 30 years has been working on the theme of the interconnection between living beings and the socio-ecological values of their relationships. The fruit of his labor is rather rare with us: the "Hanji". This is Korean mulberry paper.

Barely a foot in the Belgian capital, Pierre launched “InsideBrussels.be” more than 10 years ago, the idea is simple: “What to do? Where to go to eat or have a drink? “. Entrepreneur at heart, this is not his first project! Far from there. EatLocal.io; KingCard.be, Bricabrac.be … Like wine, with time the project improves!
Pierre does not hesitate to share his favorites and his best addresses of Brussels restaurants that he could recommend to you with his eyes closed.
