Couleur Café 2022, the music festival in Brussels

This year it's 24th - 26th June 2022, that the Square de l'Atomium gives you an appointment for 3 days of madness. On the program: concerts, entertainment, percussionists, dancers, costumes, flamboyant outfits.
You will also find many food-truck from all over the world and street-food et more than delicious drinks.
What is the history of the Couleur Café festival?
The idea germinated from the end of the 1980s. During his 'civil service' in the cultural center of Watermael-Boitsfort, Patrick Wallens went to Switzerland. This is where the “Paleo Festival” in Nyon was a source of inspiration. Created a music festival that is both mixed and friendly. Distinguishing itself from the others because it would offer something other than a dull plain and music.
He was therefore strongly inspired to bring the idea to Belgium, to Brussels in 1990. It's in the Halls of Schaerbeek, in the heart of Brussels, only music Africans and Afro-Cubans, accompanied by souks, restaurants, artisans and Deco surprising came to light.
Not bad for a first edition, 5 people attended. It was later, in 1994, that the festival settled near Tour et Taxis, along the Brussels canal. Later, the festival was again moved to the place where we know it: the Heizel.

Although a Serge Gainsbourg song is also called coffee color, it's not about that kind of music. The musical waves of the festival are more varied and attract a cosmopolitan public to dance around the music of the world. the international festival focuses on music of African and Caribbean origin. We will therefore obviously find reggae, drunk, du jazz, funk but also Latin , RnB and hip-hop.
This festival is not a small festival. Every year, thousands of spectators attend. Its friendly atmosphere and spirit of sharing has something to do with it.
What can we bring to the festival?
Good news each visitor can bring a drink. That is to say, each visitor can take with him a bottle of water or a water bottle. It can then be recharged free of charge in the sanitary facilities. Attention, glass, can, soft drinks or alcohol are NOT allowed. However, it is forbidden to bring food (unless you have a specific diet and a medical prescription)

How to access color coffee 2022?
You can get there by metro, bus, car or Noctis. Couleur Café also offers a Event Pass“. Thanks to this, you travel for free by metro, tram and STIP bus to and from the festival. This is available using the code on your festival ticket. It will allow you to obtain a transport ticket. The “Event Pass” is available at STIB “GO” points of sale. Via STIB public transport, the various choices below are available to you:

- Bus 84, 88 (N18 on Friday and Saturday) (Heysel/Heizel stop)

From midnight to 3 a.m. you can also take a shuttle Noctis. On presentation of the Couleur Café bracelet, the night bus is free. They leave from the Atomium

2022 Color Coffee Festival Campground
The festival has a camping which can accommodate several thousand campers arriving straight from Brussels or further afield. This is located a few steps from the King Beaudouin Stadium. He finds it a place between nature and the city. The values they convey are those of the festival: solidarity, conviviality and festive spirit
As in recent years, it is possible to come in a caravan or motorhome. Convenient for those who don't like to sleep in a tent and are looking for some comfort. If you are in a tent, the campsite is obviously equipped with free toilets and hot showers.
The campsite is open from Friday June 24 at 9:30 a.m. and will close on Monday June 27 at noon.

Tickets can be purchased here on the official websiteI. On the price side, 3 days are at 95€, 1 day 48€. The way to get a reduction on the color coffee 2022 entrance price: If you come with several people, you can buy group tickets. You can get 10 entries for 430€ (instead of 480€)
