1. Emile Bistrot: the "homemade" Belgian brasserie where you don't reach for dessert

Emile Bistrot Belgian Brasserie in Ixelles

We would recognize Emile bistro by the typical Belgian setting of the bistro, its welcoming and very helpful staff. They will not hesitate to advise you. Some dishes are designed to be shared like at home, served in a pan. We priced the homemade vol au vent with organic chicken. Succulent. Be careful, the dishes are hearty enough for sometimes to consider having a dessert. Don't be surprised by the size of the hamburgers which are rather generous. In short, everything is very nice, even more so when you know that all these Belgian dishes are homemade.

2. La Boule d'or: the friendly little Brussels café in Saint-Gilles

Eating Belgian at the Golden Ball in Brussels

We've been talking about it for a while, being passing through the Saint-Gilles market, it was absolutely necessary to test this Belgian brewery.
So we went there with friends. Certainly the place is not very big, and therefore some days without reservation it would have been impossible. Here is what to spend an excellent moment between friends in such a friendly atmosphere. In short, we feel good there. The menu has the right dishes, everything you expect is there. The dumplings are pretty good. Everything is made with very good products, for a very reasonable price. The experience is therefore to be repeated, very nice to eat with friends or family. although this Belgian restaurant is always crowded, it remains a pleasant atmosphere with local food.

3. Le Pré Salé: A simple and affordable Belgian brasserie in Sainte-Catherine

Le Pré Salé Belgian Brewery in Sainte-Catherine, Steak Frite

And that´s it simple and delicious cuisine at an affordable price. The place is very welcoming! If you look at the fresco above the bar, you would think you came out of the last scene between Jesus and his apostles. Given the location in the center, the staff is trilingual. With little care for all customers and also very good advice to help you choose. In the kitchen, traditional dishes Green eel, Flemish stew,  mold fries. Carnivores will be happy, the meat is more than tender, and melts in your mouth. Too bad to charge the supplements of fries and sauces… A small inclination for the delicious mussels and fries and very generous portions as well as the green eel. Don't miss a taste Belgian fried sauces, in Belgium, there is not only mayonaise!

4. Le Trappiste: The Brasserie Belgian restaurant open 7/7 (from Porte de Namur)

Eating Belgian Porte de Namur: The Trappist

A pretty nice restaurant, ideal for having a drink or enjoying a dish of Belgian brasserie cuisine (for example a good casserole of mussels, carbonades) in the Louise district. Chicory au gratin and mashed potatoes is a real delight. The fast and efficient service. The majority of the dishes are hearty. My favorite place after a movie !
