The genesis
In 2018, a story of friendship was born between Bruno Pani (founder of the event agency Profirst and the social club TheMerode) and Peter Lindbergh, iconic photographer from the 80s to today. Lindbergh seized with humanity the fragility in the strength of the models, marking his time and the advent of the Top Models. He collaborated with the flagship magazines of the heyday of glossy paper, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair. He remains the only one to have immortalized the mythical Pirelli Calendar three times. Under her lens, the famous Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Helena Christensen, sealed the power of another expression of femininity, that of raw beauty.
In September 2019, Peter Lindbergh laid down his camera for the last time, but the power of his cinematic work resides indefinitely in each of the shots that pushed back, literally and figuratively,
the framework of fashion photography. Before his death, Peter Lindbergh had created a foundation with the mission of preserving his work. Since then, the Peter Lindbergh Foundation has continued to publicize and promote its photographic heritage, in particular through the implementation of the Untold Stories exhibition, initially developed in collaboration with the Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf.
Unpublished works
Untold Stories will reveal more than 150 works associated freely by their author in order to place the gaze in abyss and to create a dialogue between the images, superimposing the one who discovers, the one who poses, the one who is just passing through. A monumental and immersive experience that combines little or unknown images with the artist's most iconic shots. A moving photograph, vibrant with the energy of the living portrait and through which Peter Lindbergh contributes to elevating fashion photography to the rank of art.
