The history of the Beer Museum in Schaerbeek ASBL

It was in 1993, thanks to 11 enthusiastic volunteers that theASBL Schaerbeek Beer Museum comes into being. , To support them, the municipality of Schaerbeek has made available to them the old unused technical section of the school in rue de la Ruche.

The starting point for the beer museum collection was brought by one of the founding members. To contribute, he brought his collection of about 300 bottles of Belgian beers. From that moment on, the museum began looking for machines, tools, documents, advertising objects, bottles, beer glasses from breweries, flea markets, and individuals.

It was a year later, on March 26, 1994, that the museum officially opened to the public. At that time, the museum had only 2 rooms and a small estaminet. In a short time, on March 22, 1996, a new room with a larger tavern was inaugurated.
