The Brussels Courthouse has a clone… in Lima!

The almost exact copy of the Brussels Courthouse…. In Lima
If you landed from another planet without knowing the colours of the Belgian flag, it would be a safe bet that you would mistake it for the Belgian. Indeed, it seems that the stone colossus of 1823 imagined by Joseph Poelaert would have inspired more than one.
If you go to Lima, you can admire the Supreme Court of Peru, which strangely resembles the courthouse in Brussels. This Peruvian work replicating the Belgian, is a work of the Polish architect Bruno Paprowsky. The latter would have built the Peruvian in 1939. Paprowsky was however more modest than Poelart because the dimensions are smaller than the version of the Brussels courthouse. Also, the interior space is more cramped and there is no dome on the roof. That of Brussels culminates at 103 meters.
We are not commenting on the quality. It remains to be seen if in a few years, the Pérpivian will also be like the Belgian… all gray and supported by scaffolding.
To go further do not miss
Barely a foot in the Belgian capital, Pierre launched “InsideBrussels.be” more than 10 years ago, the idea is simple: “What to do? Where to go to eat or have a drink? “. Entrepreneur at heart, this is not his first project! Far from there. EatLocal.io; KingCard.be, Bricabrac.be … Like wine, with time the project improves!
Pierre does not hesitate to share his favorites and his best addresses of Brussels restaurants that he could recommend to you with his eyes closed.
