The 2016 Iris Festival in Brussels
Like every year, at the beginning of May, Brussels gives way to the Iris Festival (the celebration of the Brussels-Capital Region). This year, it is the weekend of May 7 and 8 2016 which will be a sign of party in the capital.
For a weekend, the Iris Festival will bring together all the inhabitants of Brussels within their Region and invites visitors to come and celebrate together. In the program, to celebrate its 27th anniversary, , the Brussels-Capital Region has prepared free concerts as well as many activities, shows et other workshops all aimed at the general public.
Here is the program of the Iris Festival 2016
1) The Streets in Celebration: Sunday 8 May 2016 from 12.00 to 18.00
A several places in the capital, (Place de l'Albertine, Mont des Arts, etc.) you can admire the best in street performances and entertainment. Your streets and squares of the capital will be transformed for a weekend into places of wonder and encounter. 2) Brussels Food Truck Festival
In 2016, the most world's largest food truck festival puts the cover back in Brussels! No less than 140 “Food trucks” (Belgian, Dutch & French) will satisfy the 150.000 gourmets expected in the Royal Park in Brussels – opposite the Palace.
Here is an ideal place to satisfy your appetite with friends or family with these original food artisans and culinary creators. On the menu: traditional Belgian fries/hamburgers and dishes of all kinds, but you will also find organic, flavors from around the world, local and seasonal products & and many cocktails.

3) Free Concerts Place des Palais Sunday May 8
A giant stage awaits you just in front of the Royal Palace on the Place des Palais

Sunday May 8

4) Brussels, maybe not 8 May from 12 p.m. – 18 p.m.
On Sunday, an impressive number of Brussels associations will introduce you to their activities. A playful, generous and challenging program awaits you! Brussels Yoga Day, Brussels Cleanliness , Innoviris, Fiftieth Anniversary Museum, Port of Brussels ,Unicef and many others!
