Brussels abounds with beautiful picturesque landscapes for a short warm-up run or a long getaway. Whether you're a nature buff who prefers to hear birds chirping and breathe fresh air, or love the vibrant city atmosphere, Brussels offers several destinations to satisfy your whims. We have selected five walking trails in the capital for your needs of jogging. Where to run in Brussels? You will find out below!

On your sneakers, get set, go!

1 – Where to run by a lake in Brussels? Wood of the Camber:

In the wood of the Cambre, you would not feel like you are in the heart of a metropolis. Indeed, you run without feeling observed by a crowd of passers-by. There are superb trails, including the one offering a walk around the lake. The area is about three kilometers, with plenty of trails for a longer run. The Bois de Cambre is the start of the Sonian Forest, a forest of over 10 acres with 000km, 5km and 10km loops.

2 -Where run in the forest near Brussels? Sonian Forest (Sonian Forest):

A large number of trails are laid out there, offering many opportunities for jogging. Among these, some are more uneven, while others are straight and cross alignments in the middle of the beeches.

In addition, there are loops of 5 km (green), 10 km (blue) and 20 km (red), which are visible on a panel at the Center ADEPS (sports center). Finally, magnificent sports facilities are located in the park. Many showers are available at ADEPS for a minimal cost.

3 – What are the top parks for running? The Cinquantenaire and the Brussels Park (Royal Park)

Le Cinquantenaire is a very beautiful park with very well-maintained slopes. There are the Arcades du Cinquantenaire, which are a kind of mixture of the Arc de Triomphe and the Brandenberg Gate. This route offers an exceptional opportunity to join two of the most beautiful parks in the city and to discover important sites: Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History, Art and Architecture, Auto Museum, and the Islamic Centre. These two parks are the busiest in the capital.

4 – Where to run along the water in Brussels? Brussels Canal

This route concerns Anderlecht – Halle and is about 13 km long. It is made up of an extensive network of canals running north to south, just west of the center of Brussels. The route near the center is passable, but quite busy and there is no direct footpath. The most pleasant sections near the center are those starting from the Porte de Ninove, at the intersection of the N8/R20. Perfect for running along the water in Brussels

From this point, you have to go south for several kilometers. It is particularly pleasant and user-friendly for runners south of Anderlecht. On each side there are bridges to cross and paths to take in places. In addition, buses and trains run along the N6, parallel to the canal. Therefore, it is recommended to make a one-way trip to Halle and take a train back!
