Delivery and reception of the SmartMat
Despite a technical incident for which SmartMat had informed me by text message of a major delay, the SmartMat truck rang at my door slightly later than expected, with a smile.
From the moment I opened my SmartMat, the reaction was unanimous: Wow ! The box was overflowing with ingredients. Inside, there were three recipes printed on cardstock with mouthwatering photos. The recipes looked quick and easy. I'd never tried making homemade fish and chips before, but the instructions for the breaded cod seemed really simple. It definitely made me want to put on my apron and get cooking.
As for the ingredients, it seems SmartMat lives up to its promise. Everything is fresh , from the organic chives (still growing in a clump of soil) to the cod. I quickly put everything in the fridge to examine the products. While arranging them, I easily spot the organic ones . No "light" products here, nor any unnecessary colorings or flavor enhancers! It seems that SmartMat is made with as many local or organic products as possible.
Week 18 SmartMenu
This week, my SmartMat contained the following recipes, each one ready in under an hour . Being a huge fan of Southern cuisine, I decided to change the order of the menu. Instead of cooking the "breaded cod" first, I opted for the "mozzarella-stuffed meatballs in tomato sauce." Delicious! In less than 30 minutes, everything was on the table. Fantastic!
After reading the explanatory booklet on "What is SmartMat?", you realize that these recipes are not random. In fact, the menu, optimized for a balanced diet, is prepared by a team of nutrition experts.
We tested 3 recipes:
- Recipe 1 – Stuffed dumplings , Mozzarella, tomato sauce
- Recipe 2 – Net de turkey, red pepper sauce and rice pilaf
- Recipe 3 – breaded haddock, roasted cauliflower and jacket potatoes
Our opinion on SmartMat in Brussels
Our opinion is more than positive. The SmartMat concept is original. Having it delivered to my home on Monday evening allowed me to save a considerable amount of time and spend the time normally spent at the supermarket at the gym.
From delivery to the plate, everything was perfect. SmartMat offers more than just ingredients: they provide fresh and balanced recipe ideas . This is sure to spice up family dinners.
