Belgomarkt Saint-Gilles: a bulk and 100% Belgian supermarket in Brussels

Their idea: create an alternative to traditional supermarkets. However, it is not just any type of supermarket. Their objective being to make the consumption of responsible and healthy products through the economy local.
One thing leading to another, the "crowfunding belgomarkt" project (which allowed them to finance the cash registers, fridge and materials needed to build the shelves) turned into a real idea of a supermarket: “Belgomarket”.
Through this project, Belgomarkt was also able to confirm that the people of Brussels wanted to find a solution to consume responsibly and locally.
Given the success of the fundraising, the Belgomarkt project continued towards the next step: opening its supermarket 100% Belgian in Brussels. The place is already found. The supermarket will have an area of 250 square meters. It is between Saint-Gilles and Ixelles in the neighborhood Matongé/Saint-Boniface (Rue de Dublin) that Belgomarkt will open its ports. The work began in mid-February and should last approximately 2 months.
