You didn't know what to do on Sundays in Brussels? This will make you happy.
The municipal council of Brussels has approved the recognition of the pentagon of Brussels as " tourist area ". If you don't want to visit Brussels, but want to do some Shopping, you will be delighted.
Thanks to this approval, the stores in the center of Brussels receive a precious sesame making it possible to open shops seven days a week.

May the 24 the shopping streets of the Brussels pentagon will open their doors. The date of May 24 was not chosen at random. It will be the 20th anniversary of the Brussels Jazz Marathon. Last year on this date, the Belgian capital had attracted no less than 300.000 visitors

The commercial operation bears the code name "I shop on Sundays". It's all in the name! The stores of the famous rue Neuve – known for its shopping – will therefore be exceptionally open that Sunday. Please note, as far as Rue Neuve is concerned, it would not be every Sunday of the month, but only the first Sundays of each month. The alderwoman for the press trade specifies, however, that the "I shop on Sunday" operation is subject to the agreement of the Brussels and federal governments)

However, it would seem that the idea does not appeal to everyone… At the municipal council, the opposition expressed the idea that the big brands would be favored over the small traders. A priori, they could not mobilize additional staff so easily to work on a Sunday.
