The history of the BRICO brand in Belgium

The very first store opened in 1973. It was born in Schoten under the name “Bricocenter”. Until 2002, the BRICO brand was the property of the GIB group. In 2006, the brand was sold to the Dutch group Vendex, which since 2006 has been called Maxeda.

Today, there are 140 stores in the Benelux, including 95 franchised under the Brico and Brico City brands, one Briko Dépôt and eleven BricoPlanit brands.
